True Callings, October 5, 1999

By Rosepetal

Harm and Skates just get out of their plane when Harm notices a women get off another plane that just landed.  He turns to Skates and tells her that there is a women getting off that plane.  She says I am a women, he said not like that one.  We know see a very pregnant female get off the other plane.

The CAG, Harm and another person are in the CAG's office.  The other person is Petty Officer Curnan, who apparently smuggled this pregnant Albanian women on board.  Harm asks Curnan why he smuggled her on board.  Curnan saw her crying and he asked her what was wrong, she told him that her fiancée was going to kill her and her unborn baby and that the Russians at the airport wouldn't help her.  So he got his partner drunk and locked him in a room because he knew that he couldn't smuggle the women on board if he was there.

At JAG HQ, Mac and the Gunny are going to the Admirals office.  Gunny tells Tiner to clean his mess of a desk.  They go into the Admiral's office.  Bud is now introduced to Gunny.  The Admiral is looking for Limp Bizkit tickets.  Bud offers to help get the Admiral tickets to the concert.  But Gunny says he knows someone in the business and get the tickets for him.  Tiner overhears this conversation going on and he decides he is going to try to get him the tickets.  So now all three are going to be trying to get the tickets for the Admiral.

Harm is visiting with the pregnant women in sickbay and discussing what happened.  She tells him how the Serbs came into her village and took all the females into a basement of a school and raped them.  None of the other women told their families what happened, all they told them was  So her fiancée and his family is now trying to kill her.  That is when Curnan tried to help her.

After having coffee with Skates who leaves the room when the guys bring in a blow up doll and start acting like idiots, the CAG comes in and wants to talk with Harm.  He tells the guy with the blow up doll to keep it away from him or he will pop it.  He sits with Harm and tells him what is going to happen to Curnan and then says that's not actually why I am here to talk to you.  He tells him that fitness reports are coming up and he wanted to talk to Harm before he signed off on his.  He tells him how good of a pilot he is.  Harm knows that he is only telling him good things before he tells him the bad.  The CAG says you know what is coming.  Harm says he is too old, not enough hours and not enough traps.  The CAG tells him he is already running out of sky.  Pretty soon he will be sitting at a desk instead of a plane.  The young guys have one up on him because they have more flight time then he does and more traps because of the years he had to get out of the sky because of his eyes.   Harm pretty much agrees and knows that he will have to leave the squadron.

At JAG, Gunny is on the phone ordering someone to find him the tickets he wants for the Admiral.  Bud tells him that he can't sit at the desk he is at because it belongs to someone else.  The Gunny says no problem sir, I will just sit over there.  Bud says no you cant sit there either.  It belongs to Lt. Sims, Gunny says he didn't know there was a Lt. Sims working at JAG, Bud says yes she is inactive reserve.  So Gunny says then she isn't here and Bud says yes she is here 2 days a month.  So Gunny says ok I will sit on the floor then.  Bud then realizes what he is doing and says no you can sit here, I am sure Lt. Sims wont mind.  Mac has been watching all this take place.  Tiner during this time is on the phone with a scalper who is trying to sell him the tickets for two hundred and fifty dollars.  Tiner says that is too much and he will go onto plan B.  He heads onto the net.

Harm and Skates have to go on a mission.  Skates starts to freak out and get real nervous.  Harm is now worried about her.  They head out to the plane and Skates slips on the ladder and hits her mouth.  She freaks out on the mechanic about it being greasy.  Harm is getting even more worried about her.  While in the air, when Harm asks her for information, it takes a little to get her attention.  The mission completed, Harm goes to talk to the JAG attorney assigned to defend Curnan, who takes offense at Harms questioning of his ability to defend Curnan.  He tells him he can handle it and that he doesn't need his help.

At JAG, we see Tiner and Bud both going online bidding against each other for the tickets.  Only they don't realize they are going against each other.  The Bidding jumps quickly into the very expensive range.  The Admiral asks Mac what is going on around the office because everyone seems to be working so hard.  She tells him there is some dissention among the ranks now that the Gunny is here.  Seems the Admiral likes a little healthy competition between his officers.  He is happy that he brought him on board and he walks away.

Harm is sitting in on the trial of Curran.  He watches Aldridge, the JAG lawyer be eaten alive by the prosecution. Harm again after a recess is called tells him that they should go over his strategy together.  But once again Aldridge tells him I know you used to be JAG but now you are an aviator and he can do his job without Harm's help.

Harm goes looking for Skates and finds her on the deck.  He wants to discuss why she blew up at the mechanic and find out what is troubling her.  She tells him that she is all of a sudden afraid of flying.  Harm tells her that it happened to him once too and that it goes away.  She wants to know how.  He said you just keep on flying and it stops.

Harm and Skates are sent on another mission along with another plane.  The other plane is hit and he can't make it to the ocean before ejecting so Harm tells him to put his tail hook out so Harm can push the plane with his windshield over a mountain and over onto the ocean so the pilot and the rio can eject without being in enemy territory.  They make it and everyone arrives back on board safely.  Skates is no longer afraid of flying because if she can live through his stunts she can live through anything.  Everyone comes into the room and have a present for Harm.  They think he should have a new callsign, and they give him a new helmet with his father's callsign of Hammer.  The CAG says his father wouldn't mind and he would be proud.

Harm goes into the courtroom to see how the trial is going, and he interrupts and pretty much saves Curran's butt.  All charges are dropped and he only has to pay 200 for two months.  Aldridge, Curran and Harm go see the pregnant women and Harm suggests that Aldridge open an investigation which would buy her some time where she could have her baby on American soil.

At JAG, Gunny gives the Admiral two tickets to the concert.  Bud comes in and also gives the Admiral tickets.  The Admiral says how much were these tickets Bud, he says 300.  He won them in an online auction and that's when Tiner and Bud realize they were bidding against each other.  The Admiral wants to know how much Gunny's tickets were, and he is told they were free.  So unless Bud wants to go the concert himself, he can fill out a voucher for the donation of the tickets.

Harm is watching his new callsign be put on his plane when the CAG comes out and tells him that he should go back to JAG doing what he loves and is good at.  Harm agrees with him because he has already made the decision to return to JAG.
