Corporal Ednar and Corporal Anderson accidentally cross the border into Iraq.  They turn around and try to outrun the Iraqi border patrol.  They are shot at by the Iraqi's.  Corporal Ednar is shot and falls out of the vehicle.  Corporal Anderson stops the vehicle and gets out to be by Corp. Ednar's side.  He is captured by the Iraqi's as a Prisoner.  Corp. Ednar's body is returned to the United States and the Iraqi's invite Americans to come to defend Corp. Anderson against the charge of being a spy for the United States.  If he is convicted he will face the Death Penalty.

Harm and Meg are put in charge of the defense of Corp. Anderson.   Meg is the lead counsel in the defense of Corp Ednar and Harm is supposed to rescue Corp. Anderson because his superiors know that Corp. Anderson will be convicted, no matter how good the defense is.  Meg is not supposed to know about the rescue.  Harm will be helped in Iraq but a person by the code name of Scimitar.

While in Iraq, they are met by an Iraqi Colonel and a female Lt.  Meg is surprised that a female is allowed to be in the Army in Iraq.  The person who brings Meg's bag in to her room throws it on the floor.  Meg makes him put it on her bed.  The Iraqi female Lt. tells Meg she has no respect for people.  Meg says no she has respect but she doesnt fear them.

Harm and Meg visit with the Corporal and Harm slips him a transmitter they will need to locate him during the rescue.  Meg doesnt see this take place.  While at a party, the Colonel asks if Meg is with Harm and he says no.  The Colonel says he has some wonderul Scimitar Swords he would like to show Meg.  Harm thinks the Colonel is the person with the code name of Scimitar that will help him recue the Corporal.

Harm has found a note that tells him to go to the garden that night.  He is in the garden gathering equipment he will need to do the rescue when he hears Meg scream from his room.  He figures out she is trying to give him time to return.  He does return and tells the guards that Meg and him switched rooms.   Harm finally tells Meg what is going on and that the Colonel may be the person who is supposed to help him but that he wants to show Meg the swords.  Meg agrees even against Harms better judgment.

The Colonel is not the person who is supposed to help Harm but the female Lt. is.  Harm and the Lt. rush in to save Meg from the Colonel.  The Colonel is killed and they take his body and the Lt. with them to be able to gain access to the prison.  They break the Corporal free and return to US Soil amid a firefight.

Not one of my favorite episodes.

I really liked this episode, for purely aesthetic reasons. We got to see Harm shirtless for a long scene. Slow, my racing heart!

What else is there after that? Oh, well, the storyline wasn't too shabby. And it was likely and heartwarming: the marines strayed over the border because Anderson became so wrapped up in his ramblings about his family he forgot to watch where he was going. That made sense to me, as did the very much-sanitized depiction of the treatment of women in Iraq. But then, did the US Navy do any better? They gave Harm special training at Quantico, briefed him on the real mission, and left Meg in the dark. Yet as Harm rightly pointed out, her life was as much on the line as his. She was just as brave and resourceful. Give the woman equal opportunity to serve her country with full awareness of the situation, you chauvinists!

In a lot of ways, this episode was a good one for advancing the cause of women in the military. We not only have Meg, we've got Lt. Dumai/Scimitar, both more than deserving of a place. Both women carried out their missions with intelligence and bravery. It was Meg's quick thinking in the courtroom that gave Harm the upper hand in the cross-examination of the Iraqi sergeant. And Meg again saved his six by switching rooms with him to give him time to sneak back.

And as they drove off into the sunrise in a hail of bullets, Harm paid Meg the ultimate compliment, he told her she's pretty. Cute.
