An undercover operation, two botched proposals and an appeal make for this intriguing episode of JAG. First off, I should start by saying for those of you who don't know this is the first in a three part season finale.

The show's main story (A storyline) centers around Webb, Mac and an undercover operation. Mac is playing Webb's wife--and she's pregnant. DPB used Catherine Bell's real pregnancy in this story line. For those of you who are wanting to know, none of her pregnancy was padding. It was all her. I loved the scene when Harm first saw her pregnant. For a second there, it looked like he really thought she was.

This is where the shipper moment comes in. When Harm tells Mac not to go, she informs him that this how there relationship is. When one of them is ready to start a serious relationship, the other one isn't. For Harm, it's now. For Mac, it's not. He calls after her and she walks out without saying anything. This is the first time Harm and Mac have ever been separated during an undercover assignment. They've always been together watching each others backs. I think that's one of Harm's problems now. He loves her and he's not there to protect her. (We The People, Embassy, The Black Jet, The Colonel's Wife)

A face that viewers haven't seen in 5 years is Mrs. Webb. The last time JAG viewers saw her was when Webb was presumed dead (Webb of Lies). She was seen in several episodes before that when Harm had to buy two five hundred dollar plates for both she and Webb and we saw she and Clay dancing the tango. After a deadly dream, Harm had he called her to ask about Webb's whereabouts. She wouldn't tell him, but she did let him know that Webb always takes care of the women he loves. Should Harm be jealous?

Harm returned to work, but really he did nothing in this episode that would constitute him being a lawyer. He was more of a sounding board. Although, he did play judge to Tiner and Bud's moot court hearing. (B storyline) Bud represented Sturgis in a case of dereliction of duty in his representation of Jeremy Duncan back in January (Standards of Conduct).

Harm gave Bud a new approach to the appeal hearing and he blew it. Then when Sturgis found out it was Harm who gave Bud the idea he raked his best friend over the coals. This in turn caused Harm to rake Bud over the coals. I think Harm was really upset about Mac leaving. Bud and Sturgis just exacerbated his mood. I did, however, like the scene with Harm and Harriet. That was so sweet of him to listen to her talk about her three problem pregnancies and then wheel her down to the cafeteria for lunch. That's the Harm we all know and love.

Meanwhile, the Admiral had a difficult time proposing to Meredith (C storyline). All he wanted to do was propose to her in a romantic way. I love men who go all out to propose. First, he took Meredith to lunch and was going to have a waiter bring her something special aka: the ring on a platter. Instead, the waiter brought her the check and she paid it. The second time, the Admiral put the ring in the cake. They got distracted and his dog ended up eating the ring. AJ had to take her out so she could poop it out. Finally, after Tiner made a slip of the tongue Meredith had AJ ask her right then and there (see Quotes).

By the way, poor Tiner got dissed not once but twice on the show tonight. First the Admiral yelled at him and called him a name and then Sturgis made a comment about Tiner to Harm. Tiner just can't catch a break. BTW, Tiner is graduating law school in three weeks. Another pupil for Harm and Mac to teach. Go! Tiner.

Back to Webb and Mac (A storyline). I loved the conversations about men and kids. Boy! Webb hit the hammer on the nail when he reminded Mac she already had the right guy. Mac has to be schooled in diamonds so at night while Webb is snoring Mac is reading up on diamonds. She does a wonderful job because she's able to blurt out to Raul about her necklace and later on the road in Paraguay she has to test the diamonds. Even Webb is shocked by the smooth way she describes the diamonds. An added bonus to this episode was Mac seeing Gunny undercover. I have to admit I love these three working together. They did a wonderful job this time last year.

I had my suspicions about Webb's driver from the beginning and I guess I was right because he turned them over to Raul at the end. TO BE CONTINUED played across the screen ending the show.
