This was an odd episode in that it
really did not have anything to do with the usual JAG. Instead, we have
Harm and Mac chased by murderous poachers in the Appalachians. In
addition, the accompanying little story of the underaged marine and Bud
trying to locate Harm was, to my mind, more annoying than funny.
What we did get in this episode was lots of background on the two main
characters. We learn about Harm's MIA father, his career change, and his
struggle to put his life back together after the crash that killed his
RIO. We are given some tantalizing glimpses into what makes Sarah
MacKenzie tick, and why she is an alcoholic. As usual, DJE does a terrific
job with his part. He has such a wide range as an actor. Harm was almost
boyish near the beginning with his possessiveness towards his Sarah. Then
we see him near tears as he talked first about his grandfather, then his
father.
CB did a good job. I think she is finding the character and this episode
helped in that respect. She was convincing in her traumatic reaction to
the killing. She convinced me that Mac more than likes Harm. No surprise
there! LOL
In the fashion department, I did not care for Harm wearing a cap the
entire episode. I liked the sweater he was wearing. That looked good as he
ran across the field, carrying Mac.
My favourite part was the scene when Harm deliberately put down women in
the military to get Mac moving. DJE did it so beautifully, and he looked
so gorgeous doing it. Excellent camera work.
