Dangerous Game, October 15, 2002

By Michele Blackburn

Dangerous Games find Bud returning to his house, a new JAG lawyer entering and Harm and Mac against each other in a murder trial.

Judson Mills (ex-Gage, WTR) plays Lieutenant Brad Reynolds, a SEAL who is on trial for the murder of a deputy that died while pursuing him and a buddy his. This isn't Judson Mills first time on JAG. He played on a previous episode some seasons back. Harm defends with a new lawyer, Tracy Manetti played by Tamyln Tomita. Tracy Manetti is an enigma to Harm because he thinks she's Italian, but she's from Virginia and speaks with a very good southern accent. Tracy is the daughter of a tobacco farmer and is the fourth lawyer in her family. She is the only one that can walk into her house with a smile on her face because she's the only lawyer not suing a tobacco company. Her father is a friend of the new SecNav's, but she is quick to tell the Admiral that he's her father's friend not hers. Well, that takes out Harm's 'she's a spy' theory that he told Mac about.

Meanwhile, Bud returns to his new home and everyone comes to visit. He is immediately glad to see everyone that comes to visit especially Harm and Mac because he feels that Harriet is babying him. Each one brought him a gift. Tiner brought him two DVD's of Star Wars, the Admiral brought him a bottle of wine to drink with Sturgis' gift Silent Triumph, Harm brought him an interactive CD of the Starship Enterprise and Mac brought him a model of the SeaHawk to put together. DPB did take us to the SeaHawk to show Jennifer Coates talking to Bud over Instant Messenger. I think its sad that he can talk to Jen better than he can talk to Harriet. I guess this is one of many problems the Roberts will have in the coming year.

More shipper moments were added into this episode as Harm talked about one of his girlfriends and Mac cut him off before he could say anything revealing. The second time was when Harm asked about Mac's weekend plans and then told her about taking Meredith up in SARAH.

As for love lives, DPB is focusing on AJ and Meredith and keeping it cool between Harm and Mac. From previous episodes, everyone knows that Meredith likes to try new things but can't do them well. In this episode, she made AJ a cinnamon loaf that AJ accidentally dropped and instead of breaking it dropped like a heavy brick. AJ also made Harm take Meredith up in SARAH. In a hilarious scene, Meredith, unconsciously, almost kills both of them while the Admiral watches from the ground. By the time, they land Harm looks like the one that wants to puke.

Going back to the Reynolds case, Mac and Sturgis find that the Sheriff knew about the Seal's having training exercises and instead of telling the deputy that as he was chasing Reynolds, he let his deputy chase them until there was an accident and the deputy was killed when his car overturned. Lt. Reynolds was told that he could return to the SEALS if he wanted to, but instead he decided to leave the SEALS, but stay in the Navy because he felt partly responsible for the death and wanted to take the blame. It ended with Harm, Mac and Sturgis watching the Lieutenant walk away.

Congratulations to Catherine and Adam on the news that they are expecting their first child in April!!!
