This episode deals
with Harm and Mac going aboard the USS Suribachi to investigate the death
of Officer Chinik. While Harm is in the brig talking with the
accused Petty Officer DeMara, the ship hits a reef. Harm, the Guard
on duty and the prisoner are all trapped inside the brig when the hatch
won't open.
The Admiral goes to a retirement party
for one of his old friends from his seal days. Because his friend is
retiring the Admiral starts thinking about how old he is and that he can't
do the things he used to. While onboard his friends ship for the
retirement party, they get the call that the ship that Harm and Mac are on
need help. The Admiral heads out with the team to help.
When they start pulling the Suribachi off the reef they are on, it makes a
shelf with air tanks on it fall on top of DeMara, trapping him.
Water starts pouring into the Brig as well.
The Admiral and Mac are talking about
how he feels like he is getting old. He wonders if he is slowing
down. Mac says as we grow older we all slow down but our hearts grow
stronger. The Admiral tells her that if she ever speaks about this
conversation with anyone, he will personally be on her six fast. She
says yes sir.
The people working on the hatch get it
open and the Chief who is the guard in the Brig goes up and tells everyone
that Demara and Harm are dead, they drowned. The Admiral doesn't
believe Harm is dead and goes down himself to save him. He suceeds
in the nick of time.
Harm goes to find and arrest the Chief
who is the real murderer. He set DeMara up and then left Harm and
him for dead in an ever sinking brig.
The Admiral and the rest are having
coffee after the arrest and everyone is talking and laughing how they knew
Harm was alive and that he is really tough to get rid of.
Someone comes and tells the Admiral that he must
have read the air tank wrong because he thought he had 15 minutes on the
air tank he used but really he only had 15 seconds. Everyone laughs
except the Admiral and Mac. This was not one of my favorite
episodes.
Harm and Mac board the U.S.S. Suribachi
to investigate the murder of Officer Chinik. Marco Sanchez plays Petty
Officer De Mara, the accused. While Harm and Chief Sturevant were down in
the brig, the ship hit an uncharted reef causing debris to fall on the
hatch making it impossible for them to get out. Harm alerts Mac and the
Captain. When he gets off the phone, Sturevant offers him a cup of coffee.
Thankful, Harm takes the cup of coffee, lifts it to his lips and then
looks over at Sturevant.
"Where's the head?" Harm asks. Sturevant points upstairs and Harm sets
down the coffee.
Meanwhile the Admiral flies to a retirement party on the U.S.S. Manassas
for an old friend from his Seal unit
De
Mara freaks out in the brig banging chairs against the cell door, tearing
up his matress and threatening Harm and Sturevant. As an actor Marco
Sanchez did a beautiful job as a stressed out Navy Officer being blamed
for murder. Harm finally gets to the point where he can't take it anymore
and tells De Mara if he wants something just to ask. Just then the lights
went out.
"Can you turn the lights back on please, sir?" De Mara asked seriously.
Back on Manassas, the Admiral and his friend talk about retirement and
about getting old. The Vice Admiral's stories make the Admiral paranoid
about his age.
Meanwhile, water starts pouring in to the cell on Suribachi. De Mara
starts freaking out and Sturevant goes in to get him. De Mara hits him and
grabs the gun.
While at the retirement party, the Manassas gets a call for help from the
Suribachi. A.J. joins the boarding team. The Manassas pulls them off the
reef, but the jolt sends a shelf full of oxygen tanks over on De Mara
pinning him in. Chlorine gas fills the space above them making it hard for
the team to breathe. They get the hatch open and Sturevant gest out. When
the men ask him about Harm and De Mara, he hesitates and then tells them
that Harm and De Mara drowned.
The Admiral and Mac are waiting for news in the dining area. The Admiral
asks Mac if she thinks he's getting old.
"Am I slowing down?"
"Sir, as we age our physical skills diminish."
"Wrong answer."
"But our hearts grow stronger." Good save, Mac.
"New Age mumbo-jumbo. That's what I tell myself anyway."
"Yes, sir."
"Glad you agree. Thanks."
"Don't mention it."
"I won't." The Admiral turns to Mac and gets a serious look on his face.
"And, incidently, if you do to anyone I'll be on your six faster than a
surface-to-air missile."
Mac straightens up. "Understood, sir."
They interrogate Sturevant in the infirmary. Neither of them believe his
story and they go to the Captain. The Captain tells the Admiral that he
can't afford to let anyone go down there and get the bodies so the Admiral
goes. The Admiral gets the Lieutenant in charge of the retrieval and they
both go down. The Admiral test his air supply and sees that its fifteen
minutes.
While their trying to get the hatch open, the Captain orders the crewman
to move the ship for an oncoming ship. The move jerks the shelf off of De
Mara.
"How did you do that, sir?" De Mara asked Harm as they're wading through
the water to the hatch.
"Faith." Harm replies. "Now how are we going to get the hatch open?"
"Faith."
De Mara says. Just then the hatch opens and a hand reaches out with two
oxygen masks. The Admiral's face appears through the gas and Harm and De
Mara are staring at him with amazed looks on their faces.
The
next thing you see is Sturevant reading a magazine. Everyone hears squeaky
shoes and then the camera moves from Harm's soggy shoes to his wet face.
"Got a towel I can borrow, Chief?"
They all convene in the dining area to listen to Harm's explanation of the
murder. It turns out Sturevant was in it with Chinik and when he found out
Chinik was going to be arrested he killed him to keep Chinik from talking.
"How did you know the Commander was alive?" The Captain asked Mac and A.J.
"We didn't, sir. Our experience with the Commander told us he was alive."
Mac explained.
"Are you a tenacious man, Commander?"
"Ever try getting gum off the sole of your shoe." The Admiral remarked
coolly. All of them laughed including Harm.
While still laughing, the Lieutenant came in and asked to speak to the
Admiral alone. The Admiral told him to go ahead and speak.
"Instead
of fifteen minutes of air, sir, you had fifteen seconds. You must have
read the gauge wrong."
The Admiral takes a sip of his coffee.
"I said you nailed it, sir." Harm replied smiling. They all laughed except
for Mac. She wasn't taking any chances in saying or doing anything because
she knew the Admiral would go through with his word.
The scene fades out with the Admiral bringing his coffee cup to his lips
and looking at the camera with an indescribable look.
